Set up social media post approvals

Decide who posts directly, and approve or send back your team's posts.

Approvals let a teammate prepare posts while you, or someone you trust, signs them off before they go out. You decide per person who can post directly and who needs approval.

1. Choose who needs approval

  1. Open Settings → Teams and edit the team member.
  2. In Module access, open Social Content.
  3. Under Posting, choose Post directly (their posts go out as they schedule them) or Needs approval (their posts wait until you or an approver says yes).
  4. Switch on Approve others' posts for anyone who should approve the team's posts.

The account owner never needs approval and can always approve. New to teams? Start with Add team members.

2. What a team member does

They write the post as usual and press Send for approval. Until it is approved they can still change it. If it comes back with notes, it shows under Sent back with what to change; they press Make the changes, then Update for review.

3. Approve, send back, or edit and post

Posts waiting for you are in Needs review in Social Content, and the home screen shows how many are waiting. Open one to see:

  • Whether it is ready to go out on every account, checked against each network's rules.
  • What changed since the last version: new photos, a different time, accounts added or removed, captions changed for a network.
  • A Conversation to ask a question or leave a note.

Then choose Approve (it posts or schedules as planned), Send back with your notes, or Edit and post to fix it yourself. If its time has passed, approving posts it right away.
