# Bulk upload social media posts from a spreadsheet

Schedule up to 500 posts at once from a CSV file.

When you have a month of posts ready, upload them from one spreadsheet instead of creating each one by hand. One file can hold up to 500 posts.

## 1. Fill in the sample sheet

In Social Content, open **Calendar → Bulk upload** and click **Download sample sheet**. Open it in Excel or Google Sheets, keep the column names, and fill in one post per row. Only **caption** or **media** is required.

| Column | What to put in it |
| --- | --- |
| caption | The text of the post. |
| date | YYYY-MM-DD or DD/MM/YYYY. Leave empty to use your next free posting time. |
| time | Hours and minutes in 24-hour time, such as 19:30. |
| accounts | "all", or account names or @handles separated by \|. |
| format | Optional, such as ig_reel, tt_video or li_document. Copy the codes from the sample. |
| media | Links to files, or library:ID for files in your Library, separated by \|. |
| link | A link to add to the post. |
| first_comment | Posted right after the post, where the network allows it. |
| youtube_title | The title for YouTube videos. |
| alt_text | A description of the picture for people who cannot see it. |

Save the file as CSV.

## 2. Set posting times for rows without a date

In the same window, **Posting times** lists the times rows without a date fill, one after another, such as every day at 11:00 and 19:00. Set them for every account or for one account.

## 3. Upload and check

1. Click **Choose a CSV file** and pick your file.
2. Karobar checks every row and shows how many are ready, with when, caption, accounts and files for each.
3. Rows with a problem are listed with the reason and skipped. Fix them in the sheet and upload them again later if you like.
4. Click **Create** to make the ready posts. They appear in the [calendar](https://karobar.io/help/use-the-content-calendar).

### How many posts can one file hold?

Up to 500. Split a bigger plan into several files.

### Do posts from a spreadsheet need approval?

They follow the same rules as any post: if your account needs approval, they wait for it.
